Hi again everyone. Here's some of my work from a while back, when I was in my HTK phase. I wasn't going to post any of this stuff originally, because, although many people like it, there are many of those who despised me for it. Nevertheless, I learned alot through studying the techniques of various artists, and I don't regret doing so.

This particular pic is of one of the characters from a theme that I had done (my first I believe), entitled 'Mer de Ciel' (Sea of Sky). The whole story takes place in a fantasy/steam-punk world, where two factions wage great war within the skies. Within this scenerio, water fairing vessles are replaced by air ships (Skies of Arcadia-esque), and certain, chosen individuals possess the ability to take control of the forces within the skies. These individuals are what can easlity turn the tides of battle.

This particular character, is a rag-tag, dark market dweller, found in the middle eastern quadrants of the world. Below is her backround -

The Rah'zahrynn are rogues for hire, with skills and resources that allow them to alter the properties of the sky. Unlike the honourable "Sisterhood of the North Wind" who use their honed, mystical abilities to change wind and atmosphere patterns (used as strategy in war, etc.), the Rah'zahrynn, worried only about personal gain, take the dirty way out and "hack" the sky mechanically, via use of a Minarett. A Minarett is the box that a Rah' carries on their back. It's a mechanism constructed of lost, ancient technologies. When placed in the hands of a skilled user, such as the Rah', it can call upon the forces of the sky, providing quick and dirty control. Around their necks, the Rah' carry a key-like device, which, when inserted into a Minarett, can adjust its properties to the desired effect. The Rah'zahrynn can be found in regions of the far East, where ancient technologies are in abundance. They wonder the busy, black markets of large cities, always happy to take on new customers, for the right price of course. It is said that the Rah'zahrynn have been hired to conduct jobs anywhere from as simple as destroying a rival merchants warehouse by lightining strike, all the way to aiding in armed, regional, quarrel engagements. The Rah'zahrynn usually prefer to stay away from jobs that involve large scale, empire class wars, as they are no match for the powers of a High Priestess of the North. Rumors have it though, that a handful of hot shots, with immense skill, easily rivaling that of a Priestess, do exist.
